Green Hills Software to Exhibit High Availability Data Center Solutions at RSA Conference 2011

SANTA BARBARA, CA — February 9, 2011 — Green Hills Software, the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, will demonstrate at the RSA Conference in Freescale Semiconductor’s booth #2450 its High Availability (HA) Data Center embedded software solutions for Freescale’s QorIQ™ P4080 multicore processor. INTEGRITY Secure Virtualization enables a High Availability virtual appliance to reliably monitor Linux as it processes networking traffic, and if necessary, restart it after a crash or catastrophic fault, all with no additional hardware.

The demo will include capabilities such as:

• HA virtual appliance enabled by INTEGRITY Secure Virtualization and P4080 hardware-assisted virtualization
  • Linux Virtual Machine performs networking processing
  • An HA virtual appliance runs outside the Linux Virtual Machine and detects failures such as a Linux kernel crash or stalled network processing
  • The HA virtual appliance restarts the Linux Virtual Machine when failure is detected
• INTEGRITY symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) performs automatic load balancing of the Linux Virtual Machine, HA virtual appliance and other applications across the 8 cores

Green Hills Software’s HA Data Center solutions are designed to provide high availability for high-end networking devices. They are suitable for a wide range of applications such as enterprise and service provider routers, switches, base-station controllers, radio network controllers (RNCs), long-term evolution (LTE) and general-purpose embedded computing systems in the networking, telecom/datacom, wireless infrastructure, military and aerospace markets.
