Freescale and Green Hills Software Collaborate on Multicore Networking Development

Development Partnership Agreement to Produce Advanced Software Solutions for QorIQ P4080 Platform

FREESCALE TECHNOLOGY FORUM, ORLANDO, FL —June 16, 2008 — Freescale Semiconductor and Green Hills Software, Inc., the technology leader in device software optimization (DSO) and real-time operating systems (RTOS), announced today their development partnership to produce groundbreaking multicore development tools for the new QorIQ™ communications platforms. The development tools for QorIQ platforms will feature capabilities unavailable on competing processors, enabling developers to bring their QorIQ platform-based products to market faster and with higher quality.

Green Hills will demonstrate the MULTI® IDE simultaneously debugging 8 cores on the QorIQ P4080 processor running on the Virtutech Simics system simulator. The demonstration will also include the Green Hills INTEGRITY® RTOS with Padded Cell™ hypervisor hosting both applications and guest operating systems. INTEGRITY’s symmetric multi processing capabilities perform automatic load balancing for these applications and guest OSes across the cores. Green Hills Software will also feature the ultra small footprint µ-velOSity™ kernel securely virtualized by Green Hills Software’s award-winning Padded Cell hypervisor.
