Green Hills Software Expands Offering by Reselling Objective Interface's Real-Time CORBA Solutions
Royalty-free, Embeddable ORBexpress Addresses Mutual End-Customers' Needs for Speed, Size, Security and Reliability
SALT LAKE CITY, UT—April 20, 2004 - Green Hills Software, Inc., the market leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced immediate support and availability for Objective Interface Systems' ORBexpress RT for C++ and Ada CORBA solutions, integrated with its INTEGRITY RTOS, MULTI Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and C/C++/MISRA C optimizing compilers.
The availability of these tightly integrated products provides developers with a high performance, standards-based communications infrastructure adopted for use in defense, aerospace, telecom/datacom, transportation and process control systems, eliminating the need for developers to create custom communications solutions that are incompatible and proprietary.

The INTEGRITY RTOS is a fast, scalable, deterministic, royalty-free RTOS designed for applications that require high performance, high reliability and security, coupled with a cost-effective business model. Building upon the hardware memory protection facilities of today's processors' MMU, the INTEGRITY RTOS provides a firewall between the kernel and user tasks that prevents errant or malicious code from corrupting user data, the kernel, interprocess communications, device drivers and other user tasks and applications.
The INTEGRITY RTOS also enhances reliability and determinism by allowing the system to run with interrupts continuously enabled, even during RTOS system calls, and can guarantee access to both CPU time and system memory for critical applications and tasks. Other RTOS solutions do not offer this protection or security, leaving systems vulnerable to failure from errant application code, viruses and hackers.
The INTEGRITY RTOS is part of a complete solution comprised of Green Hills Software's MULTI IDE and both Green Hills Probe and Slingshot run control solutions. Together with Green Hills family of optimizing C/C++/EC++ and MISRA C compilers, the solution automates all aspects of embedded software development from board bring-up, to product integration and deployment, to in-field debugging and upgrades.
Availability
ORBexpress is licensed on a per developer basis, and there are no royalties
or run-time fees. Each license comes with the first 12 months of full technical
support, updates/upgrades, etc., included with the license. In addition, a
3-day training course is included with the purchase of each ORBexpress license.
Runtime licenses for INTEGRITY on the target system are free. INTEGRITY and
ORBexpress RT support Windows, Linux and Solaris development hosts. The MULTI
IDE, with C/C++/EC++ and MISRA C compilers, is available today.
