ESS Technology, Inc. is using Green Hills Software's Optimizing C Compilers to develop embedded software for an Internet Set-top Box Web Browser. Using a custom microcontroller based on the MIPS-X architecture, the Internet Set-top Box provides Internet access via a television. It doubles as a DVD/SVCD player for home entertainment.
