Green Hills Software to Present and Exhibit at Freescale Technology Forum Americas 2010


SANTA BARBARA, CA—June 14, 2010 —Green Hills Software, Inc., the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, will exhibit, present and demonstrate the broadest and deepest software solutions for Freescale processors next week, June 21-24, 2010, at the Freescale Technology Forum (FTF), JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Convention Centers, Grande Lakes, Orlando, Florida.

Green Hills Software’s embedded software technology thought-leaders will present technical sessions, demonstrate optimized solutions, and exchange ideas in stimulating panel discussions to help embedded designers build and deploy software with maximum performance, absolute security, in the fastest time-to-market. Green Hills will also announce ground-breaking support for newly announced Freescale product families, adding to its already deep and broad support for i.MX applications processors, QorIQ™ communications platforms, PowerQUICC® processors, MPC55xx/56xx and ColdFire® processors for networking, automotive, medical, consumer, industrial and military/aerospace markets.

Technical Sessions:

Learn from industry technologists in these 50-minute technical presentations:

  1. Multicore Systems Software Architectures for the QorIQ P4 Processor, presented by Green Hills CTO David Kleidermacher, will explain the major systems software design choices to partition multicore workloads and provide guidance for mapping technical and business requirements.

  2. Bringing Security to Android-based Designs on i.MX51 Processors, presented by Green Hills CTO David Kleidermacher, will explain how i.MX51 hardware features such as ARM® TrustZone™ and powerful cryptographic functionality can be leveraged to meet the growing demand for security in Android-powered devices.

  3. Multicore Debugging Requirements for QorIQ P4 Processors, presented by Joe Fabbre, technical solutions manager, will examine tools requirements to enable maximum visibility into all aspects of software development for the P4 family.

  4. Automotive Toolchain Requirements for MPC56xx Microcontrollers, presented by Greg Davis, director of engineering, will detail the latest techniques and technologies for creating and deploying successful software on Freescale MPC55xx and MPC56xx; including compiler optimizations and benchmarks, managing errata rates, MISRA C, EC++, coding standards, trace debugging, scripted debugging, ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and AUTOSAR.

  5. Developing Secure Virtualized Systems, presented by Gordon Jones, Vice President Embedded Virtualization, will teach the key benefits and design trade-offs of using INTEGRITY® Secure Virtualization; including:

    • Safely migrate legacy software to new QorIQ P1xxx, P2xxx, P4xxx platforms
    • Reliably and securely utilize QorIQ multicore
    • Control power, footprint, bill-of-materials

  6. Comparing QorIQ P4080 Processors to Other Communication Processors, presented by CTO David Kleidermacher, will provide in-depth, unbiased comparisons between the latest multicore communication processors found in the embedded landscape, including case studies.

  7. Modern Methods for Debugging, presented by Joe Fabbre, technical solutions manager, will demonstrate intermediate and advanced debugging and visualization techniques, focusing on "the right tool for the job."

  8. Writing Reliable C/C++ Code, presented by Greg Davis, director of engineering, will describe the top sources of run time errors, and how to avoid them in order to write reliable code.
