INTEGRITY PC Deployed as Net-Centric Warfare Computing Platform at CWID 2007

Warfighters Praise Performance, Security, and Usability of the Platform

SANTA BARBARA, CA —January 22, 2008 — Green Hills Software, Inc., the technology leader in device software optimization (DSO) and real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced that its INTEGRITY PC™ technology was selected for and successfully deployed at the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID), an annual worldwide event held by the military and homeland defense organizations in over 15 countries. The primary purpose of CWID is for these organizations to identify products and technologies that meet specific objectives, including secure communication and collaboration.

INTEGRITY PC was selected to address one of the most important military and intelligence information management problems: communities struggle with the burden of maintaining separate computers and networks to manage information at varying sensitivity and accessibility levels. INTEGRITY PC enables the consolidation of computers and networks, yielding enormous savings in size, weight, power, and cost. INTEGRITY PC manages information at multiple security levels, supports the execution of common applications and environments such as Windows and Linux, and includes an efficient cross-domain information transfer capability.

"The individuals from the operational community who viewed INTEGRITY Secure Workstation during CWID were extremely impressed with the functionality and ease of operation,” commented Maj. Pete Lipohar, Exercise and Analysis Officer, Joint Information and Intelligence Fusion Capability Detachment, Canadian Forces. “The requirement for a true MLS has been clearly demonstrated and the ISW solution functioned very effectively throughout this test and evaluation exercise. Regardless of the work environment, in any situation where multiple workstations must be used by a single user, ISW could provide a valuable solution to improve network access."

"INTEGRITY PC combines more than a decade of mission critical field usage, the highest level of evaluated security, open standards and COTS platform portability, and the latest virtualization technology," commented David Kleidermacher, chief technology officer, Green Hills Software. "The future success of net-centric warfare and the Global Information Grid depends on technologies that enable the warfighter to obtain and disseminate information in real-time and with bullet-proof security."

Warfighter Assessment
According to the CWID report, INTEGRITY PC successfully met its CWID 2007 objective by "providing an environment that allows information sharing across different security domains. It successfully demonstrated its ability to display at multiple classification levels, provide cross-domain information transfer, and provide protection from accidental or malicious denial of service. Both warfighters who evaluated this trial found the system to be very easy to use, stable, reliable and ready for deployment in its current form."

About INTEGRITY PC Technology
Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY PC is a software platform designed for the military, intelligence, financial, medical, and other critical infrastructure communities where PC users must manage and protect high value information. INTEGRITY PC is based on the safety and security-certified INTEGRITY® real-time operating system, the first and only operating system to be accepted into a high assurance Common Criteria security evaluation ). INTEGRITY PC incorporates Green Hills Software’s award-winning Padded Cell™ secure hypervisor. Padded Cell enables multiple guest operating systems – such as Windows, Linux, and Solaris – and their applications to be run in secure partitions on the same computer. The resulting platform enables systems designers to build the most security-critical applications and run them alongside familiar operating environments, saving cost, size, weight, and power over multiple hardware platforms.

About CWID
CWID is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff annual event that enables U.S. Combatant Commands and the international community to investigate new and emerging technologies that can be moved into operational use within 12-18 months following the execution period. The demonstration builds a temporary global network over which cutting edge communications technologies interact to support scripted scenario. Technologies are evaluated for utility, interoperability with existing and new systems, and security.
