Synopsis
Virtual computing, virtual machines, and virtual prototypes: terms that, while representing important and promising technologies, are often misused and misunderstood. Much of the confusion is caused by the application of similar technology to achieve vastly different goals. This session will provide an overview of, and explain the differences between, the major virtualization initiatives and provide instruction on how embedded software engineers might beneficially apply these technologies.
Green Hills will also be demonstrating in its booth #1101 the following technology solution advancements:
- Platform for Secure Networking and Computing – The Freescale dual-core MPC8641 running INTEGRITY with GHNet showing network redundancy and hot fail-over along with the latest in multi- core debugging via Green Hills MULTI IDE
- INTEGRITY PC– secure operating system and virtualization technology optimized for Intel® vPro™ processor technology and running on a commercial PC
- Platform for Aerospace and Defense – auto-generated commercial grade cockpit graphics running on INTEGRITY and OpenGL while using publish-subscribe middleware to remotely control these graphics from a Windows laptop
- Platform for Medical Devices – INTEGRITY-based ARM platform securely running a wide range of applications and middleware demonstrating typical medical graphics via the TFT touch screen
- Probe For Manufacturing (PFM) – Green Hills PFM ease-of-use and powerful, intuitive interface and commands for standalone unit test and validation
- DoubleCheck – Green Hills source code static analysis tool for finding pesky resource leaks, buffer overflows and more
