Vision Systems is using Green Hills Software's Optimizing Ada 95 Compilers and AdaMULTI® Integrated Development Environment to develop the ADPRO(r) AMUX-20CD, an advanced video multiplexing security system that records up to twenty cameras onto a single VCR tape. The ADPRO(r) AMUX software, written in Ada 95, runs on a Power Architecture (MPC860) on the VxWorks Real-Time Operating System.
"We decided up front that we wanted Ada 95 for this project mainly because of its strict compile-time checking, run-time flexibility, built-in multitasking, and reusable objects. AdaMULTI's efficient Ada 95 optimizing compiler, tight integration with VxWorks, support for the PowerPC (now Power Architecture) and ability to support large programming teams made it a natural for this project."
