Green Hills Software to Present at Multicore Expo – Santa Clara 2006

Addressing the Debugging Requirements of Multicore ARM/DSP Processors

Santa Barbara, CA—March 16, 2006—Green Hills Software, Inc., the technology leader in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and device software optimization (DSO), announced today that Jack Greenbaum, director of embedded software engineering for Green Hills Software, will present at the Multicore Expo 2006 in Santa Clara, California, on the topic of: A new breed of debugging: addressing the requirements of multicore ARM/DSP processors. Last month, Green Hills Software announced the support of its MULTI integrated development environment (IDE) for DaVinci™ technology from Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) for both DSP and ARM cores, and is also the only embedded tools vendor that supports multi-processor, multi-operating system, multi-threaded, multi-language systems, all from a single environment. In addition to DaVinci, the MULTI IDE and the Green Hills probe can debug heterogeneous and homogenous multiprocessor and multicore systems with ARM, PowerPC, ColdFire MIPS, Blackfin, and Star*Core processors.

Greenbaum’s presentation, aimed at developers using multicore processors, will address:

  • the requirements and challenges associated with debugging complex applications
  • a demonstration of the debugging techniques and the single heterogeneous solution to support these techniques (including: simultaneous debugging on both the ARM and integrated DSP cores from one debugger; synchronously single stepping both cores; individual run control over multiple cores from a single JTAG connection; combination run mode and freeze mode; visibility into all processes in the system)
  When: Thursday, March 23, 2006, 1:15 p.m. PST
  Where: Santa Clara Convention Center
5001 Great America Parkway
Santa Clara, CA 95054
Green Hills Software will also present and discuss its software solutions on the show floor in booth #25.
