Nexus 5001 Forum
|
What is Nexus? The Nexus 5001™ Forum, a program of the IEEE/ISTO, was formed in April 1998 to define and develop a much-needed embedded processor debug interface standard for embedded control applications. Its overall goal is to enable the continued development of state-of-the-art, easy-to-use, high-performance microcontrollers. The Nexus 5001 interface offers non-intrusive real-time visibility and control of single- or multi-core embedded systems. It is an open industry standard that provides real-time trace, CPU control, real-time data monitoring, and system-level debugging of single-core or multicore systems. |
|
| The Nexus standard defines an extensible Auxiliary Port
(AUX) that may either be used with the IEEE 1149.1 (JTAG) port or as a
stand-alone development port. It supports breakpoint debugging and flash
programming, as well as rapid prototyping, calibration, and JTAG boundary-scan
testing.
The standard is freely downloadable from the Nexus 5001 website (http://www.nexus5001.org ), and is enhanced and maintained by an expanding list of member companies. |
