Extended Systems' market-leading Bluetooth® wireless technology protocol software supports all product platforms.

Extended Systems' complete suite of software development kits (SDKs) is designed so manufacturers can quickly implement Bluetooth wireless technology in embedded devices. Our SDKs have been tested and qualified compliant with v1.2 of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) technology specification. By pre-qualifying our protocol stacks, we help manufacturers reduce development costs, shorten time-to-market, and apply strict compliance to the Bluetooth SIG's interoperability standards.

Extended Systems has more than nine years of SDK design and OEM development experience. Hundreds of companies have selected our software including market leaders such as Palm, HP, Motorola, 3Com, Mitsubishi, Johnson Controls, Visteon, NEC, Hughes Network Systems, Fujitsu, and Red-M.

Introducing XTNDAccess Car SDK

XTNDAccess Car SDK v1.0 is a software development kit for creating in-car, multi-profile, multi-device hands-free applications. The SDK helps implement a single, unobtrusive car kit which requires no cradles or other proprietary connections specific to handset models. A car kit created using XTNDAccess Car SDK can be inexpensively built into the head-unit of an automobile allowing compatibility with virtually any Bluetooth wireless technology enabled handset. Based on the Bluetooth Hands-free, Headset, and Dial-up Networking profiles, the estimated memory requirements for an implementation are minimal at 30k ROM and 2k RAM.

XTNDAccess Car SDK supports versions .96 and 1.0 of both the Hands-free profile and the Headset profile. In addition, the Car SDK provides other features which are available in many Bluetooth enabled handsets, but which are beyond the scope of the profiles, including phonebook access and intelligent 3-way calling.

XTNDAccess Car SDK includes Extended Systems' Phone Access profile AT command processor along with the connection and call control of the Headset and Hands-free profiles. The Car SDK also makes use of DUN and Serial connections to extend the features of the Headset or Hands-free profiles. This provides developers with tremendous flexibility by supporting any AT command at a basic level and provides formatting and intelligent support for a wide range of AT commands commonly supported by handsets.

  • minimal memory requirements
  • complete headset and handsfree support
  • support for AT commands
  • simultaneous profile support for multiple handsets
  • sample Windows application
  • complete ANSI C source code
