Product Summary
ControlPoint Software Suite is a family of Ethernet bridging, switching,
and routing software modules that are integrated into a flexible and
extensible software framework, enabling equipment providers to rapidly
deliver switch and router solutions based on Fulcrum's FocalPoint family
of Ethernet switch chips. FocalPoint, a breakthrough 10-Gigabit Ethernet
switch chip family, adds a new dimension to ubiquitous Ethernet -- low
latency. Specifically, the device delivers 200 nanoseconds (ns) of total
latency as a layer-2 switch – a ten-times improvement over existing
solutions. This, combined with the fact that FocalPoint also offers full
IP routing, the highest performance and highest level of integration,
all with the greatest power efficiency, makes Ethernet the new cost-effective
and high-performance choice for storage, computing and networking backplane
and interconnect applications.
