Product Summary
A comprehensive security solution designed to address the requirements of markets such as, government,embedded and mobility, the Certicom Security Architecture allows developers to quickly and cost-effectively embed security into devices and applications.
The Certicom Security Architecture consists of a modular set of software cryptographic providers that offer FIPS 140-2 Validation and meet NSA Suite B requirements, and security services like SSL, IPSec, PKI, DRM and Embedded Trust Services (ETS). Board support packages expose cryptographic functionality available in market leading chipsets. All components of the Architecture are unified by a common API that sits between the security services and the cryptographic providers. By standardizing on a cryptographic API, manufacturers maximize portability and code re-use in products with different chipsets.
The result is a comprehensive, portable and modular security architecture that provides the following benefits:
- cost-effective software development and faster time to market
- an easy way to migrate from legacy crypto systems such as RSA, to today’s standard for public key cryptography, ECC

Cryptographic engines on the PPC 8555 and 8272,ColdFire, and i.MX31 chips from Freescale, as well as the Intel PXA27x chip are supported by the Certicom Security Architecture. Support for other market leading processors is being added regularly.

The Certicom Security Architecture was designed especially for resource-constrained devices such as mobile terminals and VPN gateways. It targets the broad embedded market. Certicom’s Elliptic Curve Cryptography implementations offer strong, efficient and standards based security that is especially suited to the strong security requirements of the Mil/Aero, government, secure mobile, and financial markets.
