Product Type Configurable Processor Core Product or Product Family Name ARC™ 700 Core Family ARC™ 600 Core Family Product Summary ARC International offers a broad range of configurable processor cores that meet the complex and varied processing requirements of today's SoCs. ARC™'s configurable technology allows SoC designers the ability to create silicon that is optimized to their application. The cores' configurability allows designers the freedom to retain necessary functionality while removing unneeded features to optimize speed, area and power for a specific application, resulting in a smaller, lower power and therefore less expensive SoC. ARC cores’ extendible architecture enables SoC designers to achieve major gains in application efficiency by defining custom extensions to accelerate critical code. Using ARC cores powerful DSP features, including DSP instruction extensions and the ARC XY Advanced DSP subsystem, designers can implement more of the SoC's functions in the processor core and eliminate external logic and DSP blocks. Product Description ARC™ 700 Core Family The ARC™ 700 family of configurable cores combines a powerful 32-bit CPU and a full-featured DSP engine in a unified architecture. ARC 700 cores have the computing power to meet the needs of the most demanding SoC tasks, like graphics, media codecs and packet processing. The ARC 700-based cores are also an ideal platform for high-end embedded OSs, such as Linux. ARC™ 600 Core Family The ARC™ 600 family of configurable cores is designed for embedded control, computation and DSP tasks in SoCs for consumer, networking, automotive and many other markets. The core family is ideal for battery-operated and cost-sensitive products. ARC XY Advanced DSP Subsystem The ARC XY Advanced DSP subsystem adds the power of a true DSP engine to ARC CPU cores, enabling conventional and signal processing computation within a single unified architecture.
