Embedded Systems Conference Spring. March 31, 1998 -- Green Hills Software, Inc. today announced the integration of its industry leading MULTI Development Environment with Embedded Support Tools (EST) Corporation's scaleable visionICE Emulators. Also, both companies announced Joint Technology Development and Cooperative Marketing agreements that will make the companies' products widely available for targets such as Motorola's PowerPC, ColdFire, and 68K. Integration efforts already are underway to support the first target processor, the Motorola PowerPC 860. Additional processors will be supported later this year.

According to the agreements between Green Hills and EST, both companies will cooperate in the development and marketing of integrated solutions combining Green Hills' MULTI and EST's visionICE. Green Hills and EST engineers currently are working on the first such integration, and additional follow-on efforts are planned for later this year.
The companies plan to cooperatively market the combined solutions at major Trade Shows, such as Embedded Systems - East, and through joint seminars and advertisements. Each company will sell its own products through existing channels, and refer customers to the other for the companion product. The companies have agreed to support each other in helping customers to use the combined products.
The Green Hills MULTI Development Environment
The Green Hills MULTI Development Environment provides a framework of interacting tools to support development by small or large workgroups. MULTI includes all the tools needed to support a major programming effort. These tools include a source level debugger, program builder, configuration manager, version control and program editor. With this tool set, a programming team can perform run time error checking and do execution profiling. These components communicate with each other for enhanced functionality and support both native and embedded development.
